GFC is Scott County's home for Recreational Soccer.
Recreational soccer is about one thing: FUN! We want our players to learn the game of soccer in a fun and safe environment. We equip our volunteer coaches with age-appropriate activities that help their players on game day. USSF Certified coaches will also receive a fee waiver for their players. Please contact us if you are interested in taking one of the courses.
Want your player to get a head start on learning the game of soccer? Our Footskillz program is led by a licensed GFC coach that will help your players get an early start on ball mastery, gross motor skill development, and taking the first steps away from parents and onto the playing field.
This program meets once weekly and players must be registered to join in on the fun.
Is your player ready to give soccer a try? Our U6 Recreational Soccer curriculum provides players the opportunity to learn the game through a mix of fun activities and game days led by a Volunteer coach under the supervision of our coaching staff. The focus at this age group is to have fun while introducing the fundamental foot skills and gross motor movements to be successful in future athletic endeavors.
Our games are played 4 vs 4 (no goalkeepers) to be sure that all players are involved in the game and getting their chance to score a goal! Practices are held one weeknight based on coach/field availability. Games will primarily be scheduled on Weekends as weather allows. Our U6 players will be on the field for about two hours per week.
Is it too late for my player to give soccer a try? It’s never too late! Our U8 Recreational Soccer curriculum is designed to enhance fundamental foot skills under the direction of volunteer coaches and to begin learning the basic tactics of the game. Our U8 program is based on fun games and activities to learn the game so that everyone has a chance to shine on game day!

This is our oldest in-house recreational league. This league builds on Footskillz learned from the earlier programs and introduces more advanced tactics on a bigger field. We also introduce goalkeepers at this age group. Slide tackling is allowed but there is no punting or intentional heading for this age group.
If this is your first season playing soccer, NO WORRIES! We have new players joining our program at every age group. The game is easy to pick up at this level on a bigger field. Games at this age are played 7v7 including the goalkeeper and there is an emphasis on the broader tactics of the game. Practices are held one weeknight based on coach/field availability. Games may be scheduled on Friday evenings and Saturday or Sunday afternoons as weather allows. Our U10 players will be on the field for about two and a half hours per week.
GFC partners with other clubs in central Kentucky to offer an Inter-club league. This provides some new competition for our GFC teams and all games will be hosted either at our home field or a within an hour's drive from Georgetown. U12 will play 9v9, U14 and U19 will play 11v11, U16 will play 8v8 on a U12 field. There are currently opportunities for girls only teams at the U12 and U14 divisions. So, please indicate if you are interested in that option when registering.
